Dishpig has this year taken on the role of "Director of Sales" and proved how good he is at the job by securing $260.00 in sales just from the riders yesterday - well done Dishpig, imagine when you are in a town with a pub and you can actually get others to buy from you.
Ash (B1) and Lianne (B2) are doing an amazing job with the coffee van. The generator needs to be turned on an hour before they need to use the van so they set their alarms, go and flick the switch in the early hours of the morning and then go back to bed for the hour - great job girls. Besides the Aussie Butt Cream, the Coffee Van is the next favourite thing on tour.
Last night it was time to start inducting the newbies - Camp Quality style!!!! Wacko was in bed and asleep by 8.00 p.m. and left us with an awesome window of opportunity for our first prank! Whilst he was asleep, Brad and I snuck in his room and put a very smelly sock that we had been wearing for a few days over his nose - he must have been tired because he never moved. We then took a picture of him with me leaning over him and as Brad snapped the photo, Wacko woke up and said "what the hell are you doing?" I jumped back down onto the floor so he didn't see me and Brad said to him "sorry mate, I accidentally dropped my sock on your face". Wacko said "buzz off" and shut his eyes again. A couple of minutes later and he was in a deep sleep again so we put the sock back and like two school kids, disappeared out of his room giggling whilst lots of the riders were watching and laughing from the window and door. I'm not sure what time Wacko finally removed the sock, but Doc Roger and Brad said his snoring kept them awake all night.

Also last night, an historic event happened. For the first time in history the Finemaster was fined. We received the following message from Brian's lovely wife Sandra - "Hey Donna, Brian won't tell you but I'm a dobber and I will. I got Brian a new "thermos" type travel mug before he went away and he took it with him. He has used it several times since he has been gone. He has just messaged me to say he had just found the paper instructions inside the well used mug! I do believe that deserves a fine." Thank you Sandra - so nice to be able to get the untouchable !

All the riders were excited to be on the road again today. It is a beautiful sunny day and so far everything is running like clockwork. Despite being sick, King is insisting on riding and is doing a great job with the help of his amazing Captains.
Today sees us finish in the little town of Woodenbong so will blog again once we arrive.

I am loving these updates Donna! It sounds like you are all having a lot of fun, whilst raising money for a wonderful charity! Great Work everyone xx
ReplyDeleteHi to all you inspirational riders and support crew. You all look like you are having a great time. I was happy with my decision to have a year off riding until I started reading the blog and seeing all the photo's. Have fun, stay safe, work together and enjoy the journey. When the times get tough remember "it is for the kids". I hear that day 4 is the big one. May the wind be behind your backs and the bike seat be kind to you all. If not be sure to use the butt cream liberally. It will become you best friend. I look forward to following you all on your journey. A quick shout out to Mj and Ian. See you all upon your return to Warners Bay. Love Kristy Scarlett
