Day 6 - Karaoke !

Well Karaoke is taking place as I blog and once again it is almost impossible to get people off the stage - not "on the stage"!!!!

Support Crew singing

All the Captains got together and sang "Lean on Me".  There was a rendition of the ride favourite "Sweet Caroline" with the whole pub joining.

Luke singing with his mum and Rose
Team Harry did a great version of "under the Boardwalk", Team Aurizon did "I'm too Sexy for my Body.  Our Mechanics did Doctor Doctor and dedicated it to Doc Roger.  Team Peters Real Estate did "You've Lost that Loving Feeling".  Big G, Doc Rog, John, Norm, Brad and Bec did Uptown Funk, the Lucky 7 from The Love Bus did the Love Shack and replaced their wording to say "The Love Bus".  Luke Dunn was joined by his mum Sarah and Rose and sang "Soul Sister" and he was amazing. The Support Crew sang "Ain't no Mountain High Enough" and Big G and Renee just sang a Grease medley and the place errupted.

  1. Donna, we could hear you singing from here, and you sounded un-believable!
You're all on the home stretch now, you've done an amazing job so far and think of all the children who's lives you will be changing.
    Love Doc, kempy and Izzy

  2. Hilarious! A bunch of near strangers, thrown nervously and with trepidation into the CQ melting pot, emerging just 6 days later to fight each other for a chance to sing on stage at the pub! Such is the power of CQ inspiration.

And it's a good thing too I imagine. With 6 days in your knicks, a seat shaped depression hardening on your backsides and the psychological weariness creeping in, it's time to renew the spirit for the journey home. Giving and getting from your comrades, that's what will see you through. What a tremendous bunch of people and what a tremendous time to be having! Love the updates. Keep smiling, keep working, see you soon.

  3. The karaoke night always sounds as the best time ever. Imagine you all itching to get on the stage to perform karaoke willingly!! It is great to read of the good times you are having and that you continue to be safe. Fancy, having a great time, raising funds for CQ and making life long friends - awesome!! Can't wait to see you on Sunday.
Lotsa love especially to Karen and Mike (Queen and King)
